Socoder -> On Topic -> 3d games

Last time I was experimenting with 3D modelling. Now I want to put them to use. The idea I have is of a game where you fly about on dragons and knock or shoot other players off. The brief is "Mount&Blade, but flying", except very simple to start.

Can anyone point me towards some tutorials for game design in blitz 3d (although I might use cobra). I am familiar with 2d stuff, images and sprites and so on, but messing about with lights and models has been... interesting so far. Any advice welcome.

I've still not really attempted anything in 3D. Sure, I've messed about with 3D blocks, and rotated a few things, but they've all played entirely in 2D. I guess I'm still not quite there yet, although. .. To be fair, I guess I've just not tried!

But, what I have done hasn't been hard. blocks here, models there, blammo game! In fact, with true poly collisions, and Blitz's handy function set, it can actually be Easier to do things in 3D than 2D.
You only need to look at the Castle (mario'y) demo to see how simple it is to achieve a decent looking 3D platform collision engine.

Have a nosey at the included demos, and see what you can grasp from those. If you're still struggling, then go tutorial hunting, but I tend to find "learn-from-code" easier than "7 pages before you get to Hello World"
..
I'm very impatient!!
