What’s wrong with IAP?

There's nothing wrong with the concept of IAP, much the same way as there's nothing wrong with adverts or notifications. But when abused, they become irritants.

"We've purposely made this level rock solid!! If you'd prefer to skip this level, purchase the level skipping bird for only 9.99!"

"Congratulations for completing this race. You can either wait 3 days for your car to get fixed, or purchase the fix-it booster for only 9.99!"

"Bonus Round. Collect eight stars to unlock the magical fairly level! Alternatively simply pay 9.99."

Right, hawkish IAPs suck. I think with adverts and notifications I've become completely intolerant because most of them are just severely annoying, even though there are proper use cases. It's just a matter of time before I instinctively start hating all IAPs too.
