Very interesting watch. I'm not much of an indie gamer, but the arguments put forth here are definitely reasonable.

Interesting points made there... Up until now though, I'd never heard of or played Passage. Just did, and found it pretty moving.

Also, did it say passage was at Gamma256... isn't that the same event blanko submitted a game to?

Yeah, my game made the show list along with Passage.

Passage was completely brilliant, but I kind of disagree with the video.

To compare Passage to Assassin's Creed or Passage to any indie game isn't quite right to me, and that's because I don't believe Passage to be a game. Passage is interactive art, and isn't fun in the sense that a 'normal' video game is. I don't think it was created to be fun either, but instead to be thought-provoking art.

So, it's not that I don't think he should be rewarded (monetarily) for his piece - What it comes down to is would the person who would pay for a game also pay for a painting? Probably not.

I agree with Blanko, that the examples he mentioned aren't great, but I still agree with the video in the sense that many games are taken for granted. Both passage and Today I Die, although good, aren't games I would pay for. They're more like paintings, as mentioned, and I would much rather pay for a game which is good at being a game, such as Knytt or Cave Story.
