Don't post illegal stolen hacked bullshit to my fucking server.
Next time : Ban

I thought to post a small portion of the complete source for the software. Might be useful.

What is this, what purpose does it have, and why did you only provide less than half of the class?

It makes sense to write it in Java.

Lots of big anti-virus software as available for big enterprise companies, who can deploy server-side versions. For example with one of Norton's products you can push out USB privileges, and be informed when they are broken. This helps to prevent people copying customer data onto a USB stick.

If your writing big server software, then Java is a perfect choice (simple to deploy to Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc). If your writing the server side in Java, then writing the client in Java too, makes sense.

Lotus Notes, Fidessa and Oracle are three more examples of big enterprise products written in Java. It's the enterprise world that keeps Java usage at number 1 on the Tiobe index.

But personally, although client-side Java works, it sucks. Old GUIs, code that uses Swing is long and bloated, and these days the Swing API is out dated (as it was written before lots of modern Java features, like generics and enums).

That's what I was thinking.

Plus these days, GUIs using markup languages are a clear win! Far more customization with less effort.

It was posted on the internet.

I have the entire source for the software which is more than 1.5Gig in size.

I would NOT, and have NOT, hacked this software. I was told via email that it is genuine.

* I did not mean to offend you Jay. This is not stolen or, if it is then no one mentioned it on the web.

Is your name Russ Ethington or Alex Klimov?. If not then maybe that's what Jay is pissed off about.

Jay.

Sorry about this. That link I never saw. The file I downloaded evidently was transported to another spot, which is where I got the file.

Anyway Let's forget this. I thought it was some released portion of something older.
