Socoder -> On Topic -> Spinal vs Comments

Spurred on by a comment I just saw over on "that" OUYA Forum, where Spinal seems a little disappointed in the lack of feedback.

Don't let the lack of feedback put you off. I know that it can be somewhat disheartening, but it's the way of the Internet, nowadays. People tend not to bother posting comments unless they have something to complain or gripe about.
People who love your game will only rarely bother to say so.

The only time people bother to comment on my games, or on AGameAWeek, is when they feel I've done something drastically wrong, or if they'd prefer to be playing a different game, or occasionally if I've dared to voice my opinion, and they think the opposite.

I'm not entirely sure how we got to this point, but .. This is how it is.
On the plus side, a lack of comments means folk aren't complaining about your game, so that oughta be considered a good thing.

I was thinking of adding some sort of feedback button in Joe 2, not sure exactly how that would work, but might end up with a couple more comments.

The lack of feedback really can be disheartening. Not so much on commercial apps, but on free apps it does annoy.

We all know how long games can take to develop and to not even receive any acknowledgment (thanks or criticism) of the time you've put in for free, for other people, really is frustrating.

However, you have to realise that people will often move from one game to another and simply forget to leave feedback. They might even intend to, but just never get around to it.

As for Joe, I haven't got around to actually playing it yet - same as most of Jay's games TBH, but I promise to leave feedback once I have.

I've got a huuuuuuuuge backlog of games (commercial and free) for all my machines that I haven't played and I tend to spend what little spare time I do have developing my own games for people to ignore!

At least you're not developing for GameStick...
