Unite Austin 2017


Just had a watch of this. If you've got a couple of hours spare then it's worth a look.

Some really neat stuff planned for the future of Unity in 2017.2 (coming in a few weeks), and 2018 also. If you use Maya or 3DS Max then those will soon be integrated into Unity to improve workflow as well as updates to Timeline and Cinemachine. Oh, and a new 2D tilemap editor. 2018 will bring a new jobsystem API/compiler which as much as I can make out, is some kind of highly optimised multithreading.

Still sticking with 5.6 for now as I have a perpetual Pro licence, but no doubt I'll upgrade when the time is right. Might even get a "proper" job one day!
