Unity Dealz.....

Interesting email.... Could be persuaded to upgrade to Unity Plus 2017 if the price is right....

Unity is offering the best deal on a Plus or Pro subscription ever. Save big $, score free Unity swag, and get top-rated assets to help you publish sooner. This is a big deal, really big.

Look for details this Thursday, November 23.

Keep on creating,

I'll keep my eyes out for it.... currently Plus is $35 per month.

$35 isn't a bad price... but the thought of paying it ad infinitum has always been a bit off-putting to me. I paid something like £1200 for Unity 5... which is a shit-ton of cash by anyone's book, but then, that was for a perpetual UnityPro licence so it isn't like pouring money down a bottomless hole.

On one hand I'm hoping for something similar for Unity 2017, but then on the other hand, if you're paying monthly then you'll always have the latest be it 2017, 2018 or whatever else appears.

"If you can afford it" is the ever-present issue, here.
I'm constantly worried that I haven't paid Mark nearly enough for the amount of usage I've got out of all his languages.
.. But compare profit to payment, and .. Really, I'm not exactly rolling in it, here!!!

Subscriptions are ok if you know you can generate that back again.
I'm not that guy!

I've often said, however, that if I ever "Make it big", then a sizeable donation would go Mark's way. .. .. Oddly the only one single game that's actually sold anything like a decent amount (SpikeDislike 1) was, somewhat ironically, written in Cocos2D!!

I'm not sure I am, either. 43 now, and not the "this time next year" dreamer that I used to be.

But also... does Unity 2017 do anything I *really* need to be able to do, that Unity 5 *doesn't* do?

Meh.... underwhelmed.

$375 off Unity Pro, making it still over $1,300/year.

Looks like they've also dropped the standard price of Unity Plus and Pro by $4.50 and $12.50/month respectively.
