I watched a bit of one the other day - two girls did up a house with very little outside help. I never saw the end result or if they made a profit though

I've always loved these type of programmes and in another life (where I had money) I would be a property developer.

The basic gist of the show.
The host introduces two people to each other, who "usually" haven't met each other (although occasionally they know each other from school or something) then they go off to the auction room. He gives them a budget, and they can bid on any of three houses, in the hope of getting one.
If they don't get one, he usually has a backup ready.

Once they have a house, they're given a minimal budget, and six months to do up the house.
If they can sell the finished house before six months are up, good! If not, the house goes back to auction.
Any profits made are shared between the two "contestants".

It's an extremely random setup, and results in some highly varied outcomes.
There've been episodes where the couples have gotten along fantastically well, but the houses just didn't sell.
Other times, the couples have argued, and bickered to the point where one of them left the show.
I even watched one episode where BOTH contestants left the show, and the host had to finish the job himself!!

A crazy show concept, and it's been filmed fairly recently, so you get the odd "oh fuck, Covid, lockdown!" elements thrown in for good measure, too.

Enjoyable.
It's available on the All4 app, if you're interested, or weekdays at 4, if you aren't watching Tipping Point.
