YSlow for Firebug

YSlow analyzes web pages and tells you why they're slow based on the rules for high performance web sites. YSlow is a Firefox add-on integrated with the popular Firebug web development tool.

Yahoo!'s YSlow for firebug is a great way to find and eliminate the things that make your website slow.

Using Apache Cache Control on my new website I managed to reduce HTTP requests from at least 36 per page to just one or two. (This is the difference between a page taking four seconds to load and 0.4 seconds!)

The Yahoo Developer Network has some more great stuff, too:
Exceptional Performance
Security Best Practices
The Yahoo! User Interface Library (YUI)
