Enigma: Futuristic Space Warfare

https://www.aresaxis.us/enigma/enigmamod/index.phtml
Hey guys, this is a game I was introduced to several years ago and have always enjoyed as a casual game. Unfortunately, the number of active players has dropped kind of low, so we're trying to recruit new players. Its quite fun, isn't time consuming, and is free.

Just a little bit about the game: Its a turn based strategy game that takes place in space, where you can buy and outfit ships, complete missions, trade goods between planets, destroy ships from opposing factions, take on bounties, and so on. You take one turn every 20 hrs, so its very casual. I recomend you guys give it a try.

@Jl235 didn't you find some exploit for that game that allowed you to completely dominate?

I have exams coming up, so I probably shouldn't start on another distraction before then...

If I started playing this "Inselkampf" game... Would I get too addicted?

You would get addicted, have joined the SoCoder alliance, then got all your hard work crushed by the Digg Alliance because some people in your alliance were making bots, even though you weren't, and they apparently weren't being used. The first time you get horribly destroyed like that is rather emotionally crushing.

Currently though, it's not worth joining any IK servers. They've been around for so long that new players don't stand a chance of proceeding past one island, because all the powerful players who've been around since the start pick up all the new islands as soon as they appear. Best left alone, methinks.

When they start a new world, that's when you should join. I was number 1 of Inselkampf.com world 2 for a very long time, I think I was called something like UncleJoe.

However after a while it would take literally over 2 hours to update all my islands, and that would need to be done about 3 times a day.

@Instinct: yes, it was a bug in the game. Something along the lines of when you sent out ships sometimes they wouldn't be removed from your island. So you'd have the ships both at sea and on land, which doubles your force. I always had money on it being a lost update threading issue, either way it was quite rare.
