Advanced DOS simulator playing user-defined scripts to mimic any behavior under a DOS-like textmode environment with various interesting features such as keyboard typing and floppy drive simulation (with audio!).

DOSIMU is short for DOS SIMU meaning MS-DOS Simulator. DOSIMU uses user-defined scripts to mimic any behavior under a MS-DOS like textmode environment. Just for fun or to fool a friend. I use it to live out my text mode fantasies.

When running DOSIMU normally, you can select a script to run. But you can also specify a script to run on the commandline, so you don't have to select it - it will be run automatically.

While running DOSIMU, you can press ESC at any time to exit. You can press F12 to pause the script, and any other key to resume again. All other keys have no effect, which enables you to pretend you're actually typing or controlling what's happening on screen.

A DOSIMU script is basically a plain text file, only with command execution definitions and macros to call special commands inbetween and inside the text. At the moment there are about 35 commands available to comfortably control the behavior of DOSIMU.

The download package contains the main Windows executable, a detailed manual with lots of script examples, quick + command reference, small and large demo scripts, and audio samples. All files are wrapped inside an unpack-and-play DOSIMU folder.

Some of the main features are:
- Textmode simulation (color).
- Keyboard (typing) simulation.
- Floppy drive simulation.
- Customizable script control features such as dynamic command definitions, macros, etc.

The manual also outlines multiple ways to invoke a script, to make the experience as realistic as possible.
