Socoder -> Off Topic -> Ben Needham

The Needhams are from Sheffield - everybody knows who they are. Our local news tonight was about nothing but the latest story that a "witness" has come forward to say that Ben Needham was accidentally killed by a digger driver 25 years ago, who then hid the body rather than... you know... be honest about what happened. The digger driver died from cancer last year, so apparently this witness thought now - 25 fucking years later - was time to tell the world what he knew.

What a complete and utter shitmonger. :/

When there's been suspected sightings of Ben in the past, they've covered it, but never ever to the extent that they did today. Apparently they're searching two sites for missing Ben in the next two weeks, but from the way it's all being reported now - like nothing I've seen in any of the previous reports, I have a horrible feeling that this is, as they say, "it".

We've all sort of grown up with this story being around and for it to end like this... doesn't bear thinking about. I never really thought he'd ever be found, but I didn't think this would happen either.

If it's true then I for one hope they throw the fucking book at this "witness" for witholding information, assisting an offender... anything. You'd have to be a grade A bastard to know something like that and not tell anybody for a quarter of a century.

It's all horrible. There are some proper fucking rejects among the human race.

It's a terrible terrible thing to have held in for 25 years. I honestly can't believe he's never come out and said anything, any earlier.
But.. Maybe the "killer" had something against him? Or maybe they were "really" good friends, and he didn't want to "dob in his mate".
I dunno.
When something like that happens, you can't really imagine what's going on inside the mind of those involved.

It's fucked up, that's for sure.

There's still a mystery going on in the estate where I grew up, Moulsecoomb, who the fuck murdered Nichola Fellowes and Karen Hadaway 30 years ago? (AKA The Babes In The Wood Murders) in Wild Park... Although quite a few still reckon it could be one of the fathers, Barry Fellowes, they're still no closer to nailing the bastard.

I don't think there's enough words in the dictionary to express how much I hate child killers.

My guess is is that this "witness" is actually the killer and he's using the death of his "mate" as a cover to his crime.

If his statement is true (about Ben being killed by a digger and buried in a site), and I don't doubt it, then at least the family will be able to finally get closure; the McCann's may never get to hear what happened to Maddie.

Holding out hope for 25 years and then hearing the worst possible news will be earth shattering, but it will be closure of a sort.

Terribly, terribly sad though.
