Multi Touch Interface!

More Wii stuff, from the same guy as last time!

View on YouTube

Last time, Johnny Lee showed us how to touch a screen none-existant screen without even touching it!

This time, how to make a fully working lightpen device, that works on any projectable surface! (Or your monitor..)

hmmmmmmm.......

what next??

holographic touch-screened/voice activated
panels,menus, buttons, monitors like those
shown on STNG, DSN, and STV?
(Star Trek Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Star Trek Voyager).
Also in such movies as Disclosure and Minority Report.

Well, if you consider the fact that this is happening with only a £30 Wii Remote, the possibilities of Touch (or otherwise) Control Specific devices can only get much more impressive!

well, I want one!

and also I can zoom in and out portions of the
controls and panels. Raise it and lower it.
Even rotate it on all axis.

Scale it up and scale it down.
Hide it and Show it
and put in standby too.

immerse and attach holographic
skins on it and also attach a parent
or guardian icon type near or on it.
Sorta like the holographic Angel named
Guardian in the movie Disclosure.

I would have one of a dolphin.
the initial or default setting of the picture
or perhaps a holographic animation when the device
is activated.

Somebody needs to give this guy some money to turn his stuff into a simple product. ...I would, but I got no money!

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what kind of interface options people come up with in the future. I'm still waiting on 3D glasses to become more reasonable. Then, using the wii-mote tools we've seen, you could manipulate whole 3D scenes very easily.

I really liked this video. Currently you need an interactive whiteboard to achieve the same effect, which is not only more expensive but more limited since it's large and not portable. I think he should have simply taken what he has found out and started packaging it into a product and then release the video.

Instinct Apparently, windows 7 is aiming to support multi-touch!

I'm not surprised because Microsoft are developing a very similar multi-touch product. It's a new type of monitor with a panel of tiny infra-red cameras behind the screen. It also sends out infra-red lights allowing the user to have a multi-touch display. Would also allow things like an infra-red stylus, or as Microsoft have suggested communicating information across from a mobile phone or something similar using infra-red.

mindstorm,

I hope you were talking about me.
Cause I need the money too. And for these
ideas and products as well.

oh my gosh!!...come on man!
holographic skins,pictures,animations
that jump right on at out ya.
We would make a fortune designing and implementing
these babies. Selling and licensing them too.

I don't even have anybody backing me
nor interested in my movie idea and concept.
Which starrs Jack Black in "Spider Webs".
I think this movie would be a whole lot better
than Nacho Libre, and the up n coming Kung Fu Panda.

If!
if I just had some connections, know some people,
and have some money and investors. *sigh*!
