Actually the UK has a couple of HUNDRED earthquakes (well, tremors) each year. Most are not noticeable, but machines can detect them.

California has gotten worse Kuron. You current area Maryland is great. Much better than you think.
Some of the best Federal Jobs can be obtained in and around Maryland.
I have been applying for Federal jobs on the Internet in that area, Washington D.C., Virginia and the Carolinas.
Much better for churches as well.

To be honest, I tend not to count the minor quakes. They're sort of assumed, like "The earth goes around the sun, and spins in circles every day.. You don't feel it.. It just happens.." The larger "Feels like a truck going by" stuff is the cool stuff

The two I remember were one back in about 86, and then another about 5 or 6 years ago. The 86 one I remember because it was my "first" real quake, and ... you tend not to forget that!! Only lasted about a second or so, but our Cat (Buttons!) ran up the stairs, and wouldn't come down for hours!
The later one was more drawn out, and probably wouldn't have been noticeable if I weren't sat at my desk, being bombarded by falling CDs!!
