No idea what happened here but I'm seriously going to get one of those dashcams. I see so much stupid on the roads you'd have to see it with your own eyes to believe it.

And yes, antilock brakes are an amazing invention. Like seatbelts.

I never rely on ABS as it could fail at any time, my car don't have it. I've been lucky so far in the 25+ years I've been driving, always managed to stop.

I know anyone may say "well the brakes could fail any time too", but I always do a pedal check before I set off, periodically while driving, and before I get to the brow of a hill.

On the subject of cars, mine was off the road from Thursday until yesterday. The hydraulic clutch master cylinder suddenly failed on me, I'm just thankful that I was taught how to change gear without using the clutch pedal. Managed to get the part and fitted it yesterday.

GfK - I got one recently for exactly the reason you state. Too many fucktards on the roads.

@Kuron - Tell us more! Don't leave us hanging.

My car's in the garage Tuesday with a accelerator sensor fault that's causing the vehicle stability assist to shut down (including the ABS system).

I'm getting it fixed as when it happens the engine limits itself to 4,000RPM. Not much point having a 160BHP car that's doing that. But I've no problem driving a car that doesn't have ABS. Prior to the Mondeo I bought in 2011 I've never had a car with ABS anyway.

I often wonder how some people ever managed to get themselves a driving licence.

If they were all going to be driverless, I'd agree. But mixing driverless cars with human stupidity is a recipe for disaster.

I've changed my Ceilca for an Accord 2.2 Diesel estate after a drunken/drugged up lincolnshire fucktard rear ended our car after overtaking on a blind bend and finding out there was oncoming traffic. Also selling my motorbike - would not have been here to tell the tale had I been on that. Lucky Escapes

Happy coding!

Tesla' new radar based system notices the car in front of the car in front about to have an accident, beeps out a warning, and slams on the brakes.
