I'm not 100 percent sure if a bomb that old could still go bang, better for the old-bill to be safe than sorry though.

They're actually more likely to go bang than when they were dropped, due to deterioration of the casing, and the detonator. Corrosion can make it more sensitive so if you do hit one with a shovel you'll be wearing your balls for a bobblehat.

A couple of months back they was actually a police station there a couple of months back, it had been there yonks. I know I don't always see eye to eye with the old-bill, but I wouldn't have wanted anything like a WW2 bomb to wipe them out.
