 		No, it's more a matter of their music being mostly samples, back in the days when you could pretty much get away with sampling anything...
There used to be a "sample length" allowance, but then folk started taking advantage of it, and the whole Ice Ice Baby thing kicked off the anti-sample backlash. After that you had to pay royalties for pretty much anything, but since DeLaSoul's music is a LOT of sampling, it's a horror show trying to figure out the rights for everything.
