Could be dangerous!!! But I guess if you've stuff that's THAT important, then it's probably useful. .. Seriously, though!!?

Could be a lawsuit waiting to happen. The same way as a burglar can have you up in court if you don't have a sign stating that you have a bloomin' great Rotweiller sitting behind the door, not putting a sticker on the laptop could have the same scenario. There's no point to that device if what I say is valid because an organised crime gang would probably have a geek amongst their resources that could attempt to get at the data.

The only thing that's useful about that drive is the higher price putting more dosh in the manufacturer's pocket, and maybe could be used in an IED. Apart from that I think it's nothing more than an expensive gimmick.

It's a nice idea but does the company also guarantee a replacement drive?

I imagine that anyone with a job that requires a self-destruct harddrive, probably isn't all that worried about the cost of a replacement!

I meant to write: I hope the drive has a '5 year replacement warranty' even if the drive is destroyed.
