Star Trek Discovery's been a bit of a slow burn.. but now.. EPIC FLAMES!!!!!

Note to posters : Try to avoid spoilers. Use the [spoiler] tags whenever necessary..
Note to readers : The show is (I think!) worldwide on Netflix, same day. If you’ve not watched the latest episode, probably best not to read this thread. Your own risk!!

It reminds me of Fringe. Like how it started as "just another Xfiles clone", but then the arcs started to work together to create a much more solid show.
I'm very much enjoying it, and hope it continues to surprise!

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the official reason why the Kingons appearance changes so much between different versions of the show?

Also I'm not usually the person who shouts "Racist!" at the top of my lungs, but why are the most savage species in the start trek universe almost always black, even going as far as to call a white kingon a 'mistake of nature'?

Christopher Lloyd played a Klingon, so the actors portraying them aren't always black. Sure the characters may well have make-up that portrays them as non-white/dark skinned, but they are an alien race; not all aliens will be white. But in the Star Trek universe, not all bad aliens are black either.

A quick look at these ST aliens quite clearly shows that the majority are not portrayed as having d"black" skins - what a stupidly long url, google!

Star Trek is probably the least racist and most forward thinking show ever; I can't recall having seen any overt prejudice over race, sex, religion or any other 'ism.

As for why they change the Klingons? It sells more toys!

A much more slower paced episode, this week.
I was expecting as much after last week's, but the next week is the finale, so god only knows where it’s going to go!!!

The finale : Another slower paced episode, but a couple of nice twists and turns along the way.
It's odd that the "better" episodes (IMO) weren’t the finale, but in all honesty the finale was very Trek'y in it's methodology.

Enjoyable!
