MillionPuzzles revisited.

27th November 2013

Thanks Rockford, It's come a long way in a year and a half. I had to type in almost 7000 clues, and work out my mouse functions (which are still a bit clunky).
The ads are a necessary evil to make the app free to distribute, they provide a background pict*snip*

Still using Blitz

26th November 2013

I was coding with an old bought-and-paid-for Blitz2D which satisfied my coding requirements, but whenever I compiled something and tried it on another computer it failed to run.
I bought BlitzMax but like many others couldn't get into the syntax. Recently*snip*

MillionPuzzles revisited.

26th November 2013

Here again, my One Million Two-Minute Puzzles game.
Included in the zip file, all the source, the application (as it stands - not finished yet - but it works)
I have included 10000 puzzles of the million, still verifying the million are all unique.

Wow J, seems you've been having a really bad time of it. I've not been well too, but nothing in comparison. Hope all improves for you. GWS

Universal Clock

Finally got a working function written.
I've put the source on BB.com

Use it freely.

Universal Clock

3rd September 2010

Yep Scherererer, that's exactly it. I don't even want that much accuracy - to the nearest minute would suffice. Anyone know of a web-page with the current time and date somewhere on it (preferably near the beginning) that I could aim my program at as a ref*snip*

Universal Clock

27th August 2010

It's not that I need a particularly accurate time, just a standard reference that all my players are 'governed' by.
My two-player games will have a time limit to make your move/play, and if two opponents had differing 'local' times even by a few minutes (*snip*

Universal Clock

My web game needs a standard time reference.
CurrentTime$() and CurrentDate$() come from the individual user's computer. Not only does this introduce a global positioning timezone error, but even the fact that your computer may be a few seconds or minutes*snip*

Blitz 2D and 3D Printing

23rd August 2010

Yea, no worries guys, I was only looking at about 2 pages of raw text. Mostly just a list of game controls, rather than rules.
Reminiscing a bit myself - who remembers the ZX Flight Simulator? With almost every rubber/membrane key on the board used to fly*snip*

Blitz 2D and 3D Printing

22nd August 2010

Had a look for other exe files that just send direct to printer, but not finding much that's free.
Not got any experience with VBScript, did have a look at it long long ago, but didn't look for long. I'm an old-school 8-bit guy, who's games rarely even us*snip*

Blitz 2D and 3D Printing

22nd August 2010

My latest game has a lot of rules, and I thought it would be a nice idea to write a txt file in notepad for players to print out so they could read them while playing. Then I thought it would be nice if the intro to the game offered a 'Print Rules' option.*snip*

Passive Net Gaming

30th July 2010

A flash of inspiration.
I remembered seeing a library of FTP functions, so I downloaded them. I already have some hosted webspace, so now I'm thinking I could have each player's program do all the spell-checking, calculations, validations etc then upload *snip*

Great advice, thanks all.
I'm now thinking the server option is the best for my purposes. As I said this is very much a passive game. Not only that but players may have several games, each with unique opponents, all running at the same time. Sounds compl*snip*

Passive Net Gaming

7th July 2010

I have an idea for a game. Well, actually, a bit more than that - I wrote a nice little 2 player game (using Blitz2D), a word game where players take turns, trying to better their opponent and/or restrict their next available moves through tactics. At the *snip*
