There are some big game names coming up for release soon, which IMO, has been sorta lacking when I look at releases, you have your Skyrim and Doom coming, I'm guessing if being VR, and it's an excellent take on it, it'll push sales up just in time for christmas.

But big names need to come for it to be a success, I mean, Sony already have my money for Moss, its there waiting... NOW RELEASE THE RUDDY GAME SONY!!!

Strange time to scale back...

Not really - the software industry is constantly going through changes and ebbs and flows between machines. The market is so fragmented and so far spread that many devs/studios have to decide where to put their eggs - sometimes they choose wrongly or spread themselve so thinly that they are practically transparent.

It's not even about development really, as cross-format coding is pretty good nowadays, but it's support and marketing and cost of dev machines/licenses that can make or break smaller teams with limited resources.

Small devs can't afford to rely on tech that's coming to market (at some point, often delayed and unknown). Better for them to invest in the here and now and what they know.

Once VR becomes readily and cheaply available to the masses, then perhaps we'll see real support for it and NEW reasons to actually buy into it. Until then, it's just a geeky, isolating, toy and may forever remain so.

Good points Rockford!

I really love VR and sing its praises but I know its current limitations too.

Over a million PSVR HMD have been sold, so for PS their is a decent size market already and with the "sale" of Rift it pushed up the PC numbers. We'll have to wait and see what the MS MR HMDs will do!
