QOTD : Asking for help

2nd May 2010

I feel like i should ask more, but have a personal stigma that drives me to figure it out until i'm absolutely sure i'm near insanity trying to solve a problem.
As for a stupid answer, I've had someone reply with 'I don't know' before, which i found to be*snip*

Oooo. Mindstorm may be on to something there. I liked the Munitions thing in Advance Wars, though that's turned base. I'm sure people would bitch about it leashing you to a number, but naturally, you can't just have units sitting on some island without som*snip*

WW?

I figured it would be nice to see what everyone is up to during the week to see how bigger projects progress and evolve, or what piddly little things you mess with between.
Could be fun, or fodder for the newsletter. :P

Make WW just 'Show 'n Tell' - just show what you're working on and blurb about it? which that's what the sites for every day, but might could be tweaked or something.

Game Maker Games?

Seems people use Blitz here to prototype like Jay said, then shove off into another language. We all seem to be multifaceted, So having even more under the umbrella that is SoCoder would be healthy.

Why are things so expensive?!?!

I've been playing around with PSPDisp, which is a display server for PSP that allows you to peek at a desktop and control it remotely using well, your PSP.

It was my dreaded enemy: I was off by one on the vertexes, and overshooting the array. The error wasn't AddVertex- it was on the line below it: VertexNormals. Damn you IDEal and pointing me in the wrong direction!

Odd crash behaviour

Here's an oddity.... I'm working on a b3d loader, but if i run it again, i sometimes get a Memory Access Violation. So i run it once, and it's fine. Then i quit and run it again- and it MAVs on 'AddTriangle' in the meshbuilder either once, then works again*snip*

To credit Steve, i used an old tower as a storage container for a while--
Does the CD drive still work? use a live CD on it, and use it for small piddly things. Buy a thumbdrive for storage, and there you go.
