Socoder -> Wednesday Workshop -> #076 - The Hiscore Challenge

Wednesday Workshop #076 : The Hiscore Challenge
Time until Deadline

Week : 22 November 2006
The Reason : This week's challenge is based on the QOTD I posted earlier!

The Challenge : We all love to compare scores on those silly flash games. So this week, we're going to make those! (Albeit not in flash.. Unless you want to, of course!) Aim for a game which is nice and short, but which we can all try to beat each other's high scores on.

Extra Info
Think Yeti-Sports.. or that type of thing.

Weekly Rules/How to Enter
You have until Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning 00:00 BST to submit your levels. ^ See Deadline Link! ^

Wed.Workshop is at SoCoder.co.nr. If you can read this, you're already here!

Stick your entry underneith this post. (I'll get round to uploads, sometime, honest!)

If you can't figure it out, or have a really rubbish server, send it to Jayenkai@Gmail.com and I'll stick it straight onto the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site.

Entries will be collected during the week, and entered into next week's voting. (If there are any entries..)
All entries will be entered into voting which will take place if there's more than one entry..

Please try to keep all entries within small file sizes. 2Mb absolute maximum.
Additional Rules are available at the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site, under the list of previous workshops.
(Click the Wed.Workshop thing, over on the left!)

Last Week's Games
Last week, only Jayenkai entered. His game Destroy All Enemies was about trying to bring the bad guys back to life.
Jayenkai won, but only because it was the only entry. Otherwise he'd probably have lost, since his game was so damn confusing!

thats pretty nice diablo! what was that made in? java? some sort of c? the only problem was after i got up a few levels there was a bug and i made me loose, but it might have somthing to do with the damn virus scanner. nice work!

Ruby, what bug?

I've spent the last week re-coding the entire of Space Snake, ground up. So any bugs I'd like to know so I could fix up the code before it's closed for good. Before it was written with classes and methods, but it wasn't written in an object-oriented style. Now it is more object-oriented, it should be pretty easy to modify it so I can create Space Tron.

I'm also developing the image library used in that a lot more, to add colours and individual editing of the points of the lines and rotation for my next big project.

I also managed 8,227 the other day!

oh, ruby, ok. cool. anyway, the bug, i think it might have just been the virus scan, but after i got up a few levels it slowed down for a sec and my snake was just BANG! in a loopy thing, and then the virus thing poped up saying it had been updated. so i dont think you have any worrys. but, just to make sure i will test it again tomarrow if i can remember, im busy at the moment.
