So you're adament about keeping your current router. Routers are a level 3 networking device meant to connect to a WAN (internet), but they can usually be used as bridges to, so it probably would work in your situation. However, if you want to keep your *snip*

I believe that a lot of wireless routers still have ethernet ports built in, so you could just replace your current router with one of these and have both wired and wireless
