Wouldn't be much use, with Cobra Demo's "Debug Mode" permanently switched on.
Plus you'd have to ensure you get the exact same # of functions for each language, so you're not overdoing things in one.

Who put debug mode on permanently?!?

Graham did. I'd have copy+pasted the bit on his site where it said that Debug Mode was switched on, but he's posted a new "Merry Christmas" thing to his frontpage, and his "Cobra Demo Release" post seems to have gone walkabouts..

..
Never mind, I found it..

---
The demo contains the following restrictions:

* Screens are windowed, and limited to 640x480 or 800x600
* The debugger is always switched on, therefore reducing the speed of anything you create
* Every so often a nag screen will be displayed in exe's, which will also terminate after 5 minutes
* The screen is watermarked.

@garand,

I don't know about the 3d. Graham is working on a 3d module. I would also like to try out a 3d module demo....whenever it is released.

But, hey everybody, it looks like and so far right now that I'll most likely be getting the full version of Cobra.
I'll be writing some more snippets and programs.
If I do buy the full version, I hope Graham works out the download isssues for those with low bandwidth and have dial-up too. Possibly, maybe if you do purchase the full version it will contain an update, some more advanced features, and of course a registered license key to unlock the full capability of the existing Cobra demo and get rid of the watermark,nag screen, and that the debugger switch can be turned off.

new edit--> if and when the 3d module comes out...yes, by that time I'll either have a new computer and/or a new 3d graphics card for my HP computer and some more memory.

cheers,

I take it there won't be a boxed version then ?

It is unlikely that I'll be able to sort out a boxed version, although I will be investigating options.

A printed manual is planned for next year (writing it at the moment), but it will be on a print on demand approach in the same way BRL have recently (will probably be the same publishing site).

Can you not get them to add a "Make your own Box" cardboard cutout section at the back of the manual?

A boxed version would be helpfull for people with slow internet connections.

I'm pretty sure you would be able to order a CD burnt via the ecommerce site I'm using.

well steve,Jay and others

I have decided after testing out Cobra for a few days...I'm better off with DBPRO, Blitz3d, and even Pure Basic.

I should've listened to the Fates which have decreed...and also mouseys' own magical, mystical intution
not to really bother with Cobra.

serious,
