I found it far more fun to do this sort of thing in MagicaVoxel (ephtracy.github.io and then export my design to .obj format. That .obj can be dropped straight into most slicer programs :)
You should also look into MeshMixer (free) as you'll no doubt*snip*

You'll get to learn that there's lots of settings you can fiddle with to improve the quality of the prints.
As I mentioned previously, I'd also highly recommend you do this dead easy mod:

I've got some of those :)
One I took apart, put another screen in which I drove that from the GPIO pins of an RPi Zero. Bit of faffing around with wires for the buttons and stick and I had a working RetroPie setup (almost - had to faff around with co*snip*

Ok, back to the glass. You really shouldn't need it - yet!
If you want to use the glass then you need to expose the metal base and put the glass directly onto that.
I think it's probably best to work out why the extruder isn't touching the b*snip*

You need to make sure you tighten the hex-nuts inside those height changing screw thingumies. Then they can't move.

What makes you think it's not brand new?
It's unlikely a clog (unless it's not coming out at all now).
These extruders will always let filament ooze out - it's normal. The problem is that there's then a ''string'' of filament*snip*

Sticking a glass base on top of the black cover isn't ideal. The glass is borosilicate so it conducts heat pretty well, but if it's not in direct contact with the meta*snip*

You shouldn't need the glass bed yet - the printer should level with what you have out of the box. In fact, I'd recommend you ignore the glass for now as you'll need to peel off the black bed cover before you use the glass.

Nice one - really good printers.
The printers normally come with a tiny amount of filament, but it's enough to do a few test prints. Almost certainly your first prints are going to be problematic - just like everybody when they start :)

Oh dear Jay. You've done it now! It is a lot of fun though :)
You'll need some software before you get started (a slicer). Most popular free slicer is Cura : ultimaker.com
I eventually bought Simplify3D but I wouldn't recommend taking that*snip*

We've used el-cheapo acrylics from Lidl and they've worked really well so far. Here's a few more things we've made ;-)

The running costs are pretty low actually. We don't barely notice anything on the smart meter. The cost of a 1kg real of PLA varies on quality, but you're looking around 18 quid for 1kg - which lasts AGES. That death star probably cost me a coup*snip*
