Which is Better?
Working at the Office
Working from Home

-=-=-

@Poll

I dunno, it's nice working from home but you get distracted easily I think [Damn you online programming forums], well, I do, I've been working from home today, and, because I've been piss balling about, I'm still a couple of hours away from finishing up... When out to work, it's nice doing the 8 hours and that's it, your done for the day.

six and two 3's for me!

I despised doing work work from home as it never felt like the right environment to me, office is the place to do the work for work, home, not so much. Melding the two places into one was painful to do during the coof years, hoping to not have to do that again.

Although, at least I have 6 dolls living with me instead of just 1 from back then. That might change things up slightly. I still hope to not find out.

Oh dont get me wrong, the "get up and go out to work" thing is massive too if you get my drift, like, when I do work at home, I get up at the same time and all that, so easy just to think "I'll have another half an hour", then you snooze and bosh, it's 2 hours later... Absolutely horrible habit to get into. When I'm working on the 'puter, it's hard to drift away from the likes of here, youTube, various other programming forums which I read over a coffee. Sometimes family or a mate drifts in for a chinwag, or if it's sunny and nice outside, I'll have a coffee out there, next thing, I'm mowing the grass! I'm a terror!

I have thought a few times in renting a little office space, like, nowt major, dont need a whole floor but then dont want something the size of a broom cupboard either, just a average living room sized space would do... And, around my way at least, they are terribly expensive which, I cannot justify in paying. You have co-working desk setups in business park buildings which are cheaper then your private type, as in, a shared work space with others, a bit like a class room, but, again, if somewhere isnt advertising the ROA bollocks, which I cannot be arsed to chase up, I still see prices at £125p/m, which I can use elsewhere.

If I had employees, yeah, that would be a different situation, but just me, it''s not feasible, so for the foreseeable future, you lot will just have to put up with me talking bollocks when I get bored with faffing on exporting stuff from Fieldwire, which when you use the free basic one, it's tedious as out turning it into reports, honestly, it's probably up there with watching your big toenail develop into one large fungal infection!

Mmmmmm toenail culture! <---- See, I should be doing work and instead, I'm writing stuff like that!

I couldn't work from homoe - I'd just never work! There are too many distractions; work would be a low priority!

I love working from home, my last job was 2-3 days at home, this one is 100% at home. I like going in every now and then to meet up in person, but otherwise I can do my type of work sat anywhere and the advantages are I get a much nicer day and no distractions. Well I guess the distractions are different and you have to be disciplined in that regard.

Getting to the point where someone younger is paedophilia, and someone older is necrophilia...

LOL!

Which is Better?
Sweet
Sour

-=-=-

@Poll - Would of been better if it was 'sweet' or 'savoury'

My tastes have changed over the years, once upon a wolf moon, if I went out for a meal, I'd probably go main->sweet and miss the starter, because I did have a sweet tooth, bit of sticky toffee pudding or apple pie/crumble with custard in the winter, cheese cake with cream in summer.

Now though, I'm a starter->main sorta person, and can easily miss out having a sweet.

I mean, my tastes have changed so much, that on a flight to Malia for a lad's holiday when in me 20's, we got a greek salad in the plane meal thing, it had a little sachet of olive oil you could sprinkle on, so I did, took one mouthful of foliage and I nearly barfed, giving it the proper squinty eyes and tongue flapping "This is fooking horrible" action!

Now, it's second nature I chuck it on a salad, lol, movie night with nibbles... Long gone are the days of bags of popcorn or a box of malteasers, I like a good auld tub of green olives to pick at, bit of cheese (NOT THE BLUE though, I mean, what sort of mental 'enjoys' eating mould FFS) and chutney with crackers too boot! Mmmmmmmm nom nom nom

Sorry Jay, I do apologise, even though I'm pretty much good with my dyslexia now as an adult, I didnt realise when it creeps back in on occasion it offends to the point someone has to correct me.

I'll never happen again... I promise!!!

Nah, that's not a dyslexia thing. It's an aural/verbal thing. We dropped the h's, so it just sounds like "of". (It's actually Would've, where you're contracting it down with an apostrophe!)

It's how you say it, though. "Would of" is how you're saying it, and that's not dyslexia at fault.
Everyone does it. Even my Mum, and I constantly pick her up on it, whenever I spot her doing it on Facebook.
It's just one of those things.
I'm sure somewhere down the line, the OED will probably include "of" as an option, since it's so commonly used.

But until then, it's wrong!!!

Neither, assuming my partner is my estranged wife.

Haven't really done the whole.celebrity crush thing in years either, so the idea of sleeping with them would probably end up costing me a shed loaf ofoney in the future, along with unnecessary attention at the same time.

I picked Chef.
As much as I used to love cooking, that's pretty much on my "only when having a really good day" list, so I rarely get to do it, any more.
It sure would be nice to have a greater variety of meals, though.

You'd be surprised, you lot are an identity thief's dream. There's always something they'll be able to use.

I got hit a couple of years ago from two different buy now, pay later things, where apparently there are no checks and not much info is needed by the thief to walk away with£100 worth of stuff. Then some poor sod (me I'm this case) gets a bill a month later.

Crime number later and reported to the company trying to get the money and all sorted, after a couple of months but stressful, as you don't want the can't pay, we'll take it away bailiffs turning up.

I'm more than aware of that but at this point I'm past caring, I really am. Anything I post to anywhere will likely store my location as does my phone constantly, send it to somewhere, keep a log of my activities and determine what I've bene talking about if it's within earshot and yes it's shit.

It was a theoretical question only - there's no taking your phone away if you chose that answer and nobody is taking your photos or messages either. :/

If M$ can get hacked, and Apple and even hack-proofing software providers (Kaspersky, Symantec, Norton etc.) then realisticly we've got little chance. We can do what we can, but ID theft and other frauds etc. can happen at any time from any place.

We've all been there. My wife's cards/details have been accessed twice - both times the banks were shit-hot and stopped transactions in progress or before varifications. She wasn't careless. She's not stupid. She doesn't use online banking. She didn't give her cards to anyone or allow etc. etc. Shit happens.
Fri, 04 Nov 2022, 10:52

It'd probably be perfectly fine if someone had access to every photo on my phone.
I upload a shitload as is, and anything else is usually reshoots or pics I just haven't been arsed to upload!!
As for messages,,,
"The bus is getting near you now"
"Do you want a nice coffee when you get in?"
And
"Your PayPal veritfication code is xyz-abc"

Honestly, my messages are nothing to write home about
