Lines of thought..

Or..

The amount of garbage my head comes up with when I'm trying to do one thing, but not really concentrating on it

Thought #1 of the day.. Monopoly
Instead of a board, have a town.. A bit like Sim City..
Do it in Flash.
Integrate it into the Mudchat somehow.
MMOnopoly?!
Monotown!

Q: How would you even out the game so that a newcomer could still play?

Thought #2 of the day.. Green's Tiny 8-bit Collection
Whilst visiting DC-Emu's DS blog I noticed someone trying to make a "Mini game collection"
It had 4 games..
I could do better than that!!
Am I being petty? Or do I just really want to do another Tiny 8-bit collection?
Could be either!

Thought #3 of the day.. DS Homebrew Site
There's plenty of DS Dev forums about, but the current selection of Homebrew Download sites kinda sucks.
I think there's a definite gap in the market for a decent site, with just a collection of games, organised neatly, having screenshots, reviews, comments, and not bloody well looking like a blog.

A bit like the showcase, here.

Another (better) offshoot of this would be to create a GUI program which sits in the background, checks for new homebrew from an rss feed/similar, then downloads them all to your harddrive*.. The program then works like a nice catalogue, and when you double click a "homebrew" it'll open it's containing folder and you can access it however you'd like.
Maybe even integrate dldi patching, too..

*Downloading them all =.. I think.. Overall less bandwidth usage, since people won't be constantly reloading and downloading and stuff.. Maybe!

Thought #1:
I hate flash sites. They just take a lot of time to load, and when they're finished, the effects usually aren't worth the wait. Or do you mean that it would be just a feature for the site, instead of replacing the whole site with it?

Thought #2:
Hmm, no comment.

Thought #3:
If you make the DS homebrew site, will it get many members? Finding members for a site is hard, SoCoder has been around for a while and we're only a few members.

#1:
The name "MMOnopoly" is gold. I'd squat the TLD now before hasbro does.

#2:
Do it. Make a collection with 8 games and post it. Then everytime he comments, you reply to remind him that you made 8 and he made 4. Justice.

#3.
I'm totally in the dark as to what the DS homebrew scene is like but if you think there are a lot of devs who feel the same way as you, then go for it.

Although I'd like to note that your html could do with a little (read:a lot of) work!

Yeah, I should probably do that big-old web-validate thing some time..

Site works, though, so who's fussing?
