Green and Brown

But no green to be seen..

This month's challenge is to recreate a classic Wed.Workshop entry, and a while ago I decided that I'd redo Greenie's Gameboy Adventure, but in full colour, and with a bit more plot!
I hadn't yet started it, though, since I was trying to finish off Arcade Slots for the DS.
Last week, Retro Remakes launched their own Top Down 2D Dungeon challenge, so I figured I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone, and enter the same game into both challenges!
Today I drew a few graphics, and started throwing the thing together. Basic arrays are up and running, and now Greenie's running around a rather dull brown cave.

The thing is, this game doesn't feel very "Throw it together" able, and I get the feeling I'll have to do some planning on the whole dungeon world before I can carry on.
I guess I'll have to create some kind of layout editor, or at the very least plan everything out on paper, first.
But that's one of those things that I can never be bothered to do, and usually causes me to get bored with a project.

Bah, humbug!
Maybe I'll just keep drawing silly sprites for a while
