EnlargeIt!

I've been searching for a simple javascript image viewer that wasn't overly flashy and didn't have dependencies on a huge javascript library.

EnlargeIt does the job brilliantly.

Great documentation, easy to implement, works perfectly!

The name sounds like something I'd get in my spam folder, but other than that it looks neat. SoCoder uses Highslide JS which has that nice swooshy effect, so that's an alternative if you want to be flashy.

Haha, yeah, I realised that about the name Thought it was really funny

It's worth nothing though that highslide is free for non-commercial use only.

Edit: not that I'm commercial yet... that's just the dream

Indeed, highslide's got definite rules about that.

..
Although I have seen "Something very much like highslide, but with a slightly changed javascript file so they won't notice" on a few sites over the past year or so.
