It's nice enough, and all, but as with most engines/languages/whatever it requires that you can actually draw/model, first!

Afro could probably use it well enough!

So True!
But only partially.

I'm using the newer Lite C scripting language.
In the older version there was C script.

3D GameStudio is a combination authoring tool, game engine and programming language(scripting). The package consists of the A7 game engine, the Lite C scripting language called SED, and also the level editor(LED) and the modelling/terrain editor MED.

You can create a whole game or other applications with just using it as an authoring tool. But, you can use various levels and combinations of the tools and features provided.
Currently, I'm using the Lite C scripting language to code and sometimes I use the MED editor to import and view various models and terrains and convert them to mdl. And mdl is the propietary format for models and terrains in 3D Game Studio.

let me show you the way to a whole sleuth of resources.
