JL235	These days I go for 'random selection of stuff' type gifts. In Birmingham there is a corridor of shops that specialize in vintage stuff, so it's random stuff from the vintage tobacconist for dad, random stuff from the vintage chocolate place for my sister, and random stuff from the vintage off license for my brother. The aim is to just provide things they already like (smoking, chocolate, alcohol), but cos it's from the vintage shops, it looks unusual, making it a gift. If you don't have a vintage corridor of shops near you, a walk around Selfridges would suffice. These days, plenty of supermarkets and off-licenses also have a good stock of random local ales.

Dabz	Yep... Im partial to random ales, and scotch for a prezzie... Cannot go wrong with that, though, it's always best to ask real ale drinkers what local brews are the best, because sometimes, you can pick up an ale and its like marmite, as in, bloody awful, and... Still bloody awful! For my own taste buds, I'm quite partial to chocolate stout, sounds odd yeah, but tastes glorious, the chocolate is very subtle and doesnt over power that stouty taste, all in... I could drink one now! I've also had a bit of a fetish for belgium beers too, cloudy ones... At the weekend, I bought some Duvel (Not cloudy), never realized at the time the sods were 8.5%! Was expecting them to be awful, sorta Special Brewy, but, they were canny, would get them again!
