Not really sure. I guess it was all a probability when Nokia seemed to suddenly give up on their own thing, and went all Microsoft a year or two ago. But a buyout. Wow.. Didn't see that coming.

Why can't MS come up with their own phone? *shrugs*

MS buys Nokia, Google buys Motorola, and Apple sells loads of their own phone.
It's that hardware & software combo that Nintendo do so well. You kinda have to know what you're dealing with to get the best out of it.
I wonder if this latest purchase will allow bigger and better Windows Mobile abilities, or whether it'll just result in MS buggering things up in that special way that only MS seem to be able to do...

I wonder if there are specific patents/tech involved in the sale? I can't see any other reason to buy a company that was ready to fall off the face of the earth anyway. Maybe it was their experience.

Dunno. M$ do tend to buy companies and tech and then not make good use of them - just look at RARE... and pretty much everything on this PAGE
