POWER!!

Now I need to get everything up and running, and plugged in and stuff.
Annoyingly, the Dreamcast's plug isn't "quite" long enough to reach the extension cord. Bloody thing. Going to have to scour my box of cables to see if I've any longer ones, and if not, but one.. (It's a ye-olde 8 -connector like your old Tape Decks used to be, so I have... ... Tons of them!!)

Amiga via Scart works great, and X360 via HDMI also works. TV signal is patchy. Need to find a long wire, and hook the thing up to the ceiling... ... .. Which sounds really odd, but these suspended ceilings have giant metal frameworks which work FANTASTICALLY as great big aerials!!

TV is an LG Smart TV (24MT30S)
It's "only" HD Ready (13??x768, not 1920x1080) so isn't going to be any good for plugging in a PC. But since the most up to date thing plugged into it will be an X360, it's more than adequate.
The Smart TV features include a Wifi connection, and your standard BBC/ITV/etc apps, so you can do all that Catchup gubbins directly on the telly, which is nice.
It also found and connected to my NAS network drive, so I can access all my music and videos straight from the telly, too.. Awesome stuff.

All in all, a decent looking telly. Fits in well, nice and thin, does the job intended.
Paid £169 from Amazon.

What Amiga games do you play?

I'm still waiting on another delivery.. A USB mouse adapter thing. I've been struggling with a crapped out mouse for years!!! There's only so many things you can do with the "Left Ctrl+Amiga" trick, or whatever it is..

But, basically either Lemmings II, Megaball, Deluxe Galaga and Frontier.. Mmmmmm....

Ah the Amiga 600!

My parents bought us that instead of the Amiga 500+ because the sales guy said it was better

The missing numpad was such a pain for quite a few games!

(I really wanted the A1200 but we couldnt afford one)

The only time I really missed having a Numpad was when using DPaint. I never did get to play with the perspective stuff.

I had the A600 too. Never missed the numpad at all AFAIR.

We've had an LG tv for a while now - I'd definitely recommend them.

I remember having issues with some RPGs and flight sims because of the missing numpad.

So you'll be tweaking your html5 target to work on smart tv's then?

That's on my todo list

Yesterday's "WiDi" test wasn't very fruitful, I must admit... The computer says it can do it, and the TV says it can do it, but they don't appear to be agreeing on actually doing anything. Even with the laptop sat right next to the telly, it still refuses to connect the devices together.

The telly is capable of both WiDi and MiraCast. WiDi is an Intel chipset specific Wireless Display protocol, whereas MiraCast seems to be much more universal. My lappy has Intel gfx, and Windows seems to be keen on giving it a go, but it sits for a couple of minutes on "connecting" before giving up.

*shrugs*

Anyway, apparently this telly does Android apps, so I'll be looking into exactly how that stuff works, later, and maybe getting an early edition of SD3 onto the telly!!! That'd be .. Odd!!

Having given it another go, I finally got the "WiDi" thing working, and .. it's a bit shit!!
Horribly laggy, and takes about 3 or 4 seconds to refresh a screenful of stuff.
It's like using a Remote Desktop tool from the 90s!!!

Nah, that can piss right off!

... And indeed, further noseying does indeed suggest that those are "HTML5" WebApps, not nice Android apps, which is a bit of a bummer..
Tried a quick HTML5 test, and .. it "ran", but very slowly, and not well at all.

Also, was completely uncontrollable, with only a Dpad based mouse pointer to control!!

There's been something wrong with my Amiga for many years. The mouse's left mouse button hasn't worked in AGES!!
I've had many Amiga Mouses over the years, and they all inevitably fail, but .. Do I buy ANOTHER Amiga mouse? Seems silly when I have all these PC mouses lying around.
But the "Amiga to PS/2" connector apparently doesn't fit into the A600 due to how cramped the side of the system is.
Hmm...

Recently, a new product on Amazon has appeared, allowing you to plug a USB mouse into the Amiga, but only if the USB mouse is PS/2 compatible.
Unsure of two things, whether my main mouse was PS2 compatible, and whether the damn thing would even fit into my A600, I took a chance and ordered the thing, anyway.

Oh YEAH!!! Amiga is now happy and clicky!
I've a new Telly, and a brand new Mac Mini.
I have enough tech to keep me active for the next year and a half!
.. And it's a good job, too, because now I have fuck all money left!!!!
\o/yeay\o/

Ugh.. Telly's cabling is getting somewhat chaotic!!
As you can imagine, having so many old bits of tech hooked up at once, isn't good on the wiring.
I recently had to buy a HDMI multi hook-up dongle thing to allow for more connections, and am attempting to get the GameStick up and running, but have now lost TV signal because there's so many sodding devices that all the power running around has pretty much killed the signal!!

Complete and utter chaos!!!
