Kevin Eldon as Penfold, Alexander Armstrong as DangerMouse, David Lamb as The Narrator, and whoever the other guy is. (*shrugs*)

I'm not a fan of recasting shows, but if I'm honest, those aren't terrible choices...

Okay, that's a pretty good VA line-up.

I think Armstrong is probably a very good choice as DM. TGhe others, not too sure about.

I'm sure it'll be scripted. Don't worry!!

So glad it looks like an actual cartoon rather than flattened 3D/CGI.

I'm pretty sure DM used to be on CITV rather than CBBC, perhaps the episodes will be longer due to lack of adverts.

September, and I'm still chasing a more specific launch date.
I HAVE heard rumours of a Sept 9th launch, but .. That's a Wednesday, and that doesn't seem like a very good launch day for a new show..
*shrugs*

Meanwhile, for us old farts, All New "The Clangers" is all over the BBC iPlayer. Just type Clangers into the search box, and you're off.

I'm currently watching an episode, trying to decide if I'm looking at Stop Motion or CGI.. It does indeed look very "real", but it's also extraordinarily smooth..

Mum : See if you can find a knitting pattern.
Me : That's going to be a very complicated knitting pattern, mum..
Mum : Have a look!

I honestly didn't expect to find it on the Ceebeebies website!!!

I'm *still* not sure about Kevin Eldon being Penfold.. Out of all the names I first heard, his was the one I felt would be perfect.. He's a very good voice-actor, and has been a favourite of mine since the days of the old Lee & Herring radio show.
.. But.. I dunno.. He just seems... ...
Hmmm..

Lots of 4th wall breaking, and plenty of silliness.
It's different, but it's decent.
...but will it keep it up?

Yeah, that was a bit odd.. Greenback's gone extra-German, and Stilleto's nowhere near as ... Mexican? .. as he once was.
Weird switch, there!
Also, Greenback's cute little creature that I never knew the name of, seems to have the same sound effects, but no longer has his cute little giggling/jiggling animation, which makes him look somewhat dead/stiff.

But, really, if these are as good as the complaints get, then I'd say "Success!"

Might want to give it a few more episodes, first, though. Just incase it takes a bit of a fall!!

So far, I like the old one better.
Why is Stiletto an Italian Cockney?
What sort of accent is Greenback supposed to have?
Why are they people sized?

I can understand why Greenback doesn't smoke anymore which would account for his voice being less (not at all) croaky.

Yeah, the size thing kinda bothered me, too. I think mostly because they introduced "The Queen".. That's what broke the whole size logic, to me.
But I'm happy to let that pass, as it's "just a cartoon"
To be fair, he met Count Duckula, so there were already size issues!!
