I assume though you'll get some sort of allowance? Job seekers or something, at least until your appeal gets processed?

Wow - that's just plain wrong

Friends of ours have had similar problems and they now get nothing and are managing to survive thanks to the local foodbank. Without the support of local charities such as this they would be on the street as what little money they have is all gone on rent.

I do hope the appeal process is successful. Good luck Jay.

I'm getting ESA.. The ESA along with the balance currently in my bank*, should (assuming I did the maths right) hold us over until about August. At which point we're down to just ESA, which isn't a lot.

So, we're not in dire straits.. Not yet, anyway!!!

It gives us a few months to get things sorted, or figure out an alternative.
I guess we're lucky... There are folk who are much worth off.
Just a right fucking pain in the arse.

* bank balance was purposely kept at a particular limit, because I fucking knew something like this would bloody well happen.... Grrr...

...Anyone know any good jobs that let me sit here all day?

The worst bit is, I know exactly what that job is.. I just haven't managed to monetise it...

Ironically, just before Xmas, a guy emailed about me setting up a Patreon. I suggested "nah, that's not for me", so he tried to "subscribe" via PayPal.
.. Didn't work!
So I took the time to set up a Patreon account, and then all this shit's happened, which makes it look like I've only gone and set up a Patreon now that all this has gone on.
Balls!!!
I hate when unrelated things clash like that..

That is horrible

Mine is due on this Monday, I wish myself luck and I am not holding my breath. Worse Case would be that if I lose my DLA then it would be difficult to pay my rent meaning that I could be force live somewhere like Council flat. It is very likely that I could be selling my retro stuffs to have some income

Two of other deaf people(Cochlear implant) have their DLA moneys took off them.

If you are having low cash problems then be sure to get read up on the tax benefits. Here you can get things like telephone/tv/mobile ect payed for by the city. There are also a whole lot of tax things for people. My parents get 1600 a year becourse they are married. They only discovered that a few years ago.
Most people do not bother to search/call around for the tax benefits. Shame really.

Fight it, as much as you can.
If you aren't fit, you aren't fit.

Progress report on mine : We have told them we'd like a reassessment, and it'll take up to 8 weeks, so.. Lots of waiting around, and nothing much we can do.
They don't even bother to give you any temporary interim PIP income in the meantime, so it's a good job I've got the ESA to keep things in motion.
Bloody stupid things, taking so damn long.
Gah!

*phew*

Hot water boiler started fucking up over Xmas. We could just about get a lukewarm bath, if we ran the water slowly enough, but otherwise the boiler just wasn't keeping it's temperature.
The local council does boiler grants, and we asked them for help.
A grant of £1500 was awarded, because I'm on PIP...

Paperwork went through, quotes were given, and all was going swimmingly, up until approx 2 weeks ago, when it all went tits up!
We rang them, and told them, and they said it was all ok, since the paperwork was done beforehand.

Today, we got a new boiler!!
Hurray!!!

So, mum's trying to get a small job to help tide things over.
She went to the JobCenter to sign on last week.
This week, her Dentist has an opening for a cleaner, an hour a day. Mum's done that kind of thing before, so went down and enquired.
They asked for a CV. Mum doesn't have one.

Having last written a CV whilst at school 20 years ago, I was no help, and she decided it best to ask at the JobCenter.
So off she went...

Apparently, because she's "only just" signed on, she can't get any help with that. She has to have been signing on for at least a month before getting "computer help", and even then it's only basic "how to find a job" stuff, and nothing about making a CV..

Way to go, "JobCenter"... :/

"You have an actual job lined up, and want HELP to get it?! ... FUCK OFF!!!! What do you think this is? Some kind of Center for Jobs??!"

Today, I'll be re-learning how to write a CV!

the job centre, like every other government department, are a shower of useless bastards. Too much rule by politics and no common fucking sense.

Oh, and get yourselves down to the Citizen's Advice Bureau. They know all the shit the government don't want you to know.

Here's your nearest one: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/how-we-provide-advice/advice/search-for-your-local-citizens-advice/local-citizens-advice-details/?serialnumber=100492
