"Glad to hear you're on the mend Krakatomato."

Thanks matey. Getting there slowly. Wife and daughter have recently got further complications (pleurisy and heart rate all over the place) so they're being monitored for a while longer. This bug certainly does cause a few problems!

Amazing news that you're able to see your kids! I'd struggle to be apart from mine for so long so I can imagine it was super emotional.

Sending hugs to all.

There's an advert doing the rounds on telly, which looks like an NHS Info thing, but (if you read the end card) is actually an advert from Nurofen.
The advert says how it's "Totally" ok to take Ibuprofen now.

Sure, I trust that! I can't imagine any conflict of interest, there.

It seems like people at my local supermarkets have just completely given up on the idea of social distancing. The only place people are doing it is the checkout queues.

It's a good job they figured how to build those popup hospitals quickly. This second wave is going to be huge. I blame the Cummings effect, people have instantly lost faith in what they are being told as well as Borris speeding through reopening the country.

"Rest assured, 3 months into lock-down, 6 months into a global pandemic, were going to make you cover your nose+mouth on public transport."

The cynic in me believes this is all part of the governments plan to test the new vaccines (and try to distract news from that twat Cummings). If there's not enough people wandering around with the virus then how will they ever know if those with the vaccine are safe from it?

So where are we supposed to buy said face coverings from? From the dealers/cornershops asking extortionate prices for ONE? Nope. Oh, you just buy one and re-use it? Erm, don't be f'ing stupid!

Anyway, I'm still suffering from all the Covid shit and fk all chance I'm going to put anything over my face let along walk anywhere!

I have to say, if it wasn't for friends and family right now, I doubt I'd be around. It takes a lot out of you and it takes a lot to keep on going. Doesn't help when you see all the awful shit going on in the World right now.

Take care all <3

I wasn't going to bother buying any, but a few weeks ago Mum started asking me where to get them from, just as my spam bin started getting flooded by Vistaprint..
https://www.vistaprint.co.uk/

I ordered me and mum one, and have been waiting a good number of weeks, now. They still haven't turned up.
.. so.. *shrugs*

I ordered some biz cards from there once. Took ages to arrive and were of appalling quality. Found a local printers that did them almost as cheap and mahoosively better quality.

I have bought a set of those mouth/nose masks. 10 for 7 euro's. They are required for public transports in case if I or my mother needs a taxi to the hospital. I got a email that the taxi service can be used again from the 8th this month.

I'll stick to walking then.

Whenever I've had to use the train or bus there's been so few people on it I guess they're expecting a shedload of peeps on them again?

Thankfully it's been over 2 weeks in my neck of the woods since a new case has been mentioned / reported

I ordered a Photo Book from VistaPrint once. Once was enough! As you said, the quality was terrible.

BTW -

My wife's company has been selling facemasks - they work out at less than £1.00 each (and cheaper in quantity) - https://www.timesystemsuk.com/face-masks-5-c.asp

She doesn't get any discounts or kickbacks, so I'm not plugging them. Just a reliable and cheap-ish way to get them, guaranteed

How come?
... you've got it?

Nope, still no cases down here for the last 21 days. It's basically non existant at that point.

But new laws and police imposed fines from today, I can't afford the £100 fine it would cost to visit the kids and actually go indoors or have one of them be within 2m of me on the front garden. All it would take is anyone to notice and call the cops, there's some insane people across the road from the old house and OH would also get a fine for letting me enter the house.

OH doesn't want me to take public transport and by the time I've got over there, I need a respite, it's 15km of walking just to get there.

Crazy thing is, kids are allowed to move between houses, but , neither of us drive so... it doesn't really work that way.

Tut.
Surely there's a middleground?
Or would that mean more public transport for everyone?

I think I'm pretty stuck to be honest.

I don't fully understand how going to work daily is fine but visiting the kids isn't.

It'll get better.
Just be thankful they're all safe. That's the important thing.

The laws as they stand right now (especially with regards to Covid-19) are a jumbled mess of gobbledegook and bollocks that nobody understands - including the politicians (obviously!) that shat them out.
