I've been busy with Flutter at work and came across 'Flame' game engine for it. Played around for a little while and wow - with this wee little game engine, mobile game development is interesting again.

Dart is the oddball language of choice behind Flutter but to be honest, it's not half bad. It's "familiar". So if you've used any modern languages you'll be comfortable with it very quickly.

Even if you don't use it for game development and need to make a mobile app for Android/iOS - Flutter is bloomin' great! We chucked React Native in the bin and went all in for this and don't regret it

I like the look of Flutter... But worried it'll end up in Google's grave yard. https://killedbygoogle.com/

It's pretty cool and they've just updated to v2.2 which bolsters support for Web, Desktop and UWP among other things.

Also, Google generally doesn't throw away Frameworks - especially when there's some big named companies using them. Angular has been around for years now and no signs of that slowing. Pretty much one of the main reasons why we've dumped React Native and gone with Flutter.

But being able to make games with it is an added bonus
