is 33GB of data per day for internet reasonable, especially when you are on a 5Mbps line?

Kep in mind brain fried and under super stress. Data cap for the month is 1TB, so 33GB per day correct? If so, this reasonable amount?

Depends on what you're doing, but even if you watch 1gb half-hour tv shows, that's still a good day's full of telly.

(Also, are they quoting gBits or gBytes?)

This is for DSL Internet at the apartment.

I think it oughta be enough. Just hunt through your tech and disable anything that's doing silly all-day internet stuff!! (Eg, a "smart toaster" or anything like that.)

I can get unlimited for an extra $30 per month, but for $55 I think I would have a hard time exceeding 1TB per month, even being a heavy downloader (which will be greatly curtailed by 5Mbps speed).

If not, you always have the option to upgrade later, right?

Yes, I can monitor it and upgrade at anytime if I need to.
