Walking (and playing with) my dogs along the beach. You just forget the world and enjoy the here and now. True mindfulness.

@Jay Glider is in the pic below. You sit on it and it glides back and forth. Kinda like a swing that swings straight instead of in an arc.

But, ok, gotcha! You're not relaxing in an aircraft with a guitar!

What was the greatest day of your life?

In October of '21, when the DRs made it clear my wife was not going to make it, I tried to end my life and took enough of a medication that should have stopped the hearts of a herd of elephants. I survived and had no medical intervention. The only time in my life I have ever given up.

Surviving that day was the greatest day of my life, in spite of the incredible heartache and sadness that soon followed in losing my wife and our cats and out home and everything.

I have a wonderful new wife and a wonderful new life now and am surrounded by wonderful friends here on the forums and I am incredibly thankful.

Like the song says, "If you're going through hell, keep on going."

I went to Spain and back, in '95. That was a fun holiday.
That's the only time I've been outside of the UK.

The "weirdest" thing I did on the plane? .. um.. ..?
Sat, enjoyed the scenery, listened to the shitty airplane audio thing with the wonky one-ear headset doohickey.
Not that much to speak of, to be honest.

I'm not sure I'd be OK on a plane, now. Even the lift at the hospital on Friday was enough to make me quite queasy for a good five minutes or so.

Nout to be scared of tbh. They're a tad uncomfortable and there's some very strange sensations throughout the flight - from take-off to landing and every bit in between, but it's (generally) no worse than a bumpy drive on a pot-holed street...

Have been on a plane many times, never even considered doing something weird on one. So, will go with the weirdest thing I have seen. Had two flight attendants on the way from California to Maryland. They were young guys and they were hilarious, but very, very good at their job. Lots of dry ice, and "smoke" coming out of the storage compartments. Most flight attendants are very good, pleasant and professional, but definitely fall into a stick up their bum category. Not these guys, made the trip enjoyable and relaxed. Can't imagine having to do that job, because people are on their worst behavior on a plane. I couldn't do it. I would start chucking people off the plane while in flight and never have a moment of chucker's remorse.

I don't think I've ever been much of a novel reader, thinking about it.
I read most of Roald Dahl's books, had Munch Bunch and Mr Men as a kid, but I wouldn't ever bother to re-read, so they never became books I loved.
Same with later books. I laughed my arse off reading the Red Dwarf and Hitchhikers books. But I've never managed to re-read any of them.
TV memorabilia books, like Spitting Image, Not the Nine o'Clock News, Young Ones. A huge pile in my bedroom, never re-read but kept for nostalgic reasons.

Computer books, travelogues, sciences stuff, ooooh maths... Read once.

The Amstrad CPC manual, though.
I must've read entire sections of that half-a-dozen times, or more, and it's a constant PDF for referrals on my iPhings.
