Question of the Day : March 13th

How do you learn or improve your skills or knowledge and what are some of the resources or sources that you use or recommend for game development or related fields?

I genuinly don't know. I seem to find it difficult to learn a part of coding that I wasn't interested in as a teenager. For example, I struggle with structs and anything object based simply becuase I haven't learned it already. I think I'm getting old.

Nah, I'm with you on that one. What doesn't fit into an array isn't worth thinking about!

I think the chatbots have been my biggest learning tool of late.

I'm not a fan of OOP either, despite having used Unity for a while (a while back) functional just works better.

Question of the Day : March 14th

What is the most impressive or innovative feature you've seen in a classic video game that was ahead of its time?
Thu, 14 Mar 2024, 03:26
Jayenkai
I was amazed when Legend of Kain : Soul Reaver came out, with its ability to constantly stream the entire game world as it went along.
Sure, other games had done that, but I think that might've been one of the earliest examples of a 3D game doing it properly.
Yeah, that was good stuff!

Discovering the life-bonus cheat in Bruce Lee. You run into a certain room, collect the extra life, then run out and back and.. Hey, it's there again!!!

Question of the Day : March 18th

How easy is it for you to decide what to cook for dinner tonight?
Mon, 18 Mar 2024, 03:55
Jayenkai
I HATE trying to decide on meals.
Tonight's easy enough, though. Mum bought a 6-pack of peppered grillsteaks yesterday, and we ate half, so we have to use up the other 3 of them tonight.

Mum got back from Tesco with a big grin on her face. "I got 6 steaks for only £4!!" she proclaimed.
"No, Mum, they're Grillsteaks.. .. again.. Those are burgers.. again..."
I swear, whoever named those deserves a good old slap on the back, with a cricket bat, repeatedly.

Sometimes easy, sometimes not so much.

The weekend with the kids was easy, made a spag bol for me 'n' Triston, my signature noodles for Layla

Then on sunday made 2 pizzas from scratch, one just a simple pepperoni, th other being a beefburger and pepperoni one with cheese stuffed crust.

Tonight I have no idea but... I'll probably make some mashed potatoes then something with some tuna and the rest of the sauce from the pizzas yesterday. I need some more onions though to go with it, then prep something for lunch.

Question of the Day : March 19th

What would be the benefits and drawbacks of a time machine that could only go forward in time?
Tue, 19 Mar 2024, 01:27

Forward's no good. I can't make billions from my retro game style. I'd much rather go back.

That's a bit of a odd question, everything, time machine or not, only goes forwards in time...

I recently relearned how to swear at an Apple programming language, and likely why I ended up with a brain tumour.
