Question of the Day : February 1st

What risks are worth taking?
Sat, 01 Feb 2025, 02:56
Jayenkai
Buying my original MacMini, paying the dev-fees, launching the original SpikeDislike on iOS..
2011 was a much better time for us indie-devs.
I'm not sure it's worth it, any more. Not unless you've coded a masterpiece.

Question of the Day : February 3rd

What's a memorable "happy accident" in your work?
Mon, 03 Feb 2025, 03:39
Jayenkai
I think the entirety of JSE is a happy little accident!
If Pakz hadn't have posted that "quick Godot example" that frustratingly took about 12 or so steps to run, due to the "amazing" way that Godot's set up, then I never would've been kicked into bothering to make a short scripting language.

Question of the Day : February 5th

What tools do you use for music and sound design?
Wed, 05 Feb 2025, 05:10
Jayenkai
Whatever's around at the time!
I used KORG Gadget on iOS for a long time, but a couple of years ago moved to Ableton.

.. And that goes for both music and sound. Most of the Blippy sounds in JSE were created in KORG Gadget. It's ever so handy.
