OK, I feel I might have to step in here.
As much as I would love to say "Free for all, go nuts"..
Here in the UK, right now, and I know it's happening in Texas and other places, too, they're enforcing "Age Identification" for any sites that are too risqué.

We have to stick to "PG-13" stuff, here, or they'll come after us, too.
Trainspotting's an R rated movie, and you've picked up on a couple of reasons why, here.

If a child were to read the Trainspotting content, it wouldn't be good.
For that reason, I'm going to have to ask you to go back, and PG-13 this lot, or remove it entirely. Same with the downloadable game.

Otherwise, we'll risk having to clamp down on the entire site, and that's not something I'm happy to do.

If anyone thinks I've been too harsh, here, please do speak up.

No idea what went on, nor do I care. You are never harsh (popped on to just say that). Your house, your rules. Your house resides in a neighborhood that has its own rules that your house must abide by.

Since the mid 90s, anything online has supposed to be friendly to 13 year olds (at least here in the USA). Nothing new and that has always been my rule of thumb for my moderating discussion lists, forums and chatrooms.

Said years ago when SB had one of its outages that if people from there showed up here I would be gone. Stayed because you implemented an ignore feature. SB closing and people shuffling here, and no ignore feature is why I am pretty much gone. Every thread seems to get hijacked by the same person telling the other posters how they should have done something. Kinda reminds me of the Blitz forums at the end where another person was doing the same.

Anyway, back off.

It seems reasonable to me.
Maybe update the rules for the FAQ section.
Looks like we had another childish temper tantrum and somebody went through deleting all his posts.

Not too harsh at all Jay. I know a lot of us cuss on here sometimes, that's just a normal society sort of thing, but a line does need to be drawn somewhere so that the web trawlers don't start thinking this is one of those sites that promotes hardcore adult stuff.

I seriously doubt the OSA (Online Safety Act) is aimed at places like here which is a hobby site run by an individual and none business. By 'aimed at' I mean I can't see an organisation taking you to court because someone posted a few swear words. It's more aimed at companies / social media.

If you take it by its strict definition then as this site has user-to-user communication and that someone could upload a nude image then it should have at least age verification in place. Even this part of the OSA + legal hoops to jump through is beyond most individuals running a hobby site, so I can't see it being targeted.

Sticking to a PG-13 style posting rule is not a problem but I'd certainly not worry about the odd swear word. Just avoid any 18+ rated image / video content / downloadable content.

Until the next time...
