iOS7 Thoughts

12th August 2013

I’ve never used iOS. Last time I used a Mac it actually was a Mac. Somewhere around 1993.

Still using Blitz

9th August 2013

I bought Max and never used it once due to an extreme dearth of documentation.
Monkey is definitely more fiddly than Blitz, but has decent documentation. There's a beginner's book, too, though it's probably going to have invalid sections due to changes in*snip*

Platform Game Engine Lecture

4th August 2013

I can't read code at all. Even when I am quite familiar with the language.
I mean, I can read it, but I can't get any meaning from it - I can't decipher what the task it is accomplishing is.

Hoppy Bobby Sequel Planning..

Altavista was gone when Yahoo! acquired it. They made it utterly useless.

I'll stick with a retail unit that has the niggly bits worked out.

Programming for the OUYA?

23rd June 2013

I may get a GameStick on a whim in the future if available, but UK hardware tends to sit over in the UK.
I don't think GameStick supports external drives and such, does it? I'd think if it did it would be hard to set it up in a way that wasn't tugging the*snip*

Programming for the OUYA?

23rd June 2013

OUYA is just Android. You can sideload stock Android games to it and they'll run just fine. It's only integrating the controller (which...isn't that part of later versions of Android already? I'm stuck on 2.1 or 2.3 so I don't really know for sure) and int*snip*

Hoppy Bobby iOS

Got a workmate hooked on Hoppy Bobby (Android) and then Spike Dislike 2 (Android), which he purchased for himself.

"New" OpenGL

Why should MMO be some sort of ultimate goal? It's just a style of game, it's not intrinsically better. I don't even care for that style of game, myself.

Managing Music

I disagree entirely, Afr0. Setting up a coding environment and learning to code are two entirely separate things.
