Is it possible for someone to make a browser like firefox in BB?

Yes, and no. It is possible to make a simple browser in blitz, in fact there are several already. However page rendering is very complex, even before you start on javascript etc. so a complete browser "like firefox" would be very difficult.

It is indeed rather insanely complex!

Not to mention that it took god-knows-how-many people all those years. Firefox doesn't just go back to 2003 - parts of it date all the way back to Netscape!

"parts of it date all the way back to Netscape!"

That's what I thought I read. Someone took the open source code from Netscape and made Firefox, amazing.

What is that you are showing us jay?

That's Mozilla's Gecko browser code thing, doing what it does, in nicely colourful slow motion.
It's basically everything that Firefox is doing when it loads the page shown in the last frame or two of the video..

Rendering a webpage is very complicated which is why many browsers don't. They use other layout engines like Trident (IE) or Gecko (FF). If your using one of them then it'd probably be quite straight forward to make a browser in BB. Although BB isn't really built for making applications.
