Some pretty bad flooding going on in South/West Wales, today.. Apparently a month's worth of rain in a day! yikes.

I know Hobo's in Wales. Everything ok where you are?

\me checks the Google Map..

Our 2nd biggest visitor area in the UK is actually Swansea, with only London having more peeps poking in. So, just checking to see if everyone's ok, where they are.

Bit of heavy rain, but it all seems fine here, really.

Thanks for the concern

Edit: Now it's really sunny!

It's been tipping it down all day over here, still is now. Gate Lane is flooded again. It's always flooded even with little showers. Ah well - it'll pass. Hopefully.

Sympathies and empathies to anyone flooded today.

I just got back in from helping my parents. We're in the South of England (near Portsmouth) and their house is at the lowest point in the drainage system of their road. Yes it goes up from them in both directions! Not a great deal but it means that anything coming up comes up in their storm drain at the back of the house. We were flooded slightly before because the drive slopes up to the road. Not a steep slope but water doesn't care about that sort of thing

Last time, the water level went about an inch or so above the damp-proof course (which in the extension was very badly made and the carpet was wrecked) This time, we managed to keep it at bay. The biggest problem is the ridge at each corner of the house: You have to get the water up over a ridge into the drive and then up over the pavement to clear away to the road drains! Luckily we had 4 neighbours sweeping it away from the back so we were OK.

I was also flooded in South Wales when I was at University but that was proper flooding up to your waste! Well, at the bottom of our road anyway

Always happens just as it gets dark too!

We had some slight flooding in Brighton & Hove today, nothing too serious though.

Almost constant rain the past couple of days up here, no flooding though, the drains are still doing a mighty fine job.
