(He's clearly also a capitalist - if this song was to be performed live it would be the most expensive concert ever arranged. It'd also require a talented shaman.)

Why is everything always Communist vs Capitalist? The social and financial world isn't as black and white as you seem to think it is. Both communism and capitalism have equally good and bad points, neither of which is actually better in the long run. From what I have seen recently, capitalism makes the rich richer and the poor poorer because the large companies always want greater profits. However on the other had Communism is just as bad as it makes the whole community poorer, as not only are people discouraged from making huge profits, there is no reason for competition so there are no technological advances other than what the governments says they need (usually defence).
Both have their good points too though, in one everyone is treated equally (in theory), even if by some peoples standards they are treated very poorly. In the other, with a little hard work, you get to provide more for your family than your parents could, which might be a larger house, or better utilities, but then it might be $3,000,000 profit per quarter. Either way, neither work for prolonged periods of time.

(The above section is based on my opinion and may differ slightly from actual facts)

Why is this guy 'clearly' a capitalist just because an imaginary scenario would end up being expensive to produce? Did he attempt to make it happen? Nope. Does he intend on making it happen in the future, very probably not (besides the fact that the very first artist being deceased).
I can imagine plenty of things that would be expensive, how about painting a giant logo on the moon? I bet that would cost more than the entire planets money for a couple of hundred years, I must be a money grabbing capitalist then

Also, would someone who is 'clearly a capitalist' give away all of their work for free?

The remark was actually meant as a half-sarcastic, half-truthful joke.
But now that you've so openly invited me to a political debate, I can't say no!

Recently I've been looking at the principal differences between socialism and communism.
One of the principal differences is that socialism wants goods and services distributed among a populace according to individuals' capability to produce (I.E contribute to society).
Communism wants to distribute goods and services according to individuals' needs.
Just to take an example;
An individual who's overweight (not obese, just overweight) might not need to eat as much as someone who has an eating disorder and is grossly underweight.
Some people have mental disorders or need to take care of their children, so they can't work at all.
Does this mean that they shouldn't get food, shelter and/or water from the *state? Of course not!
Now where does the incentive to work come in, you ask.
Great, I'm glad you asked!
The incentive to work comes in the pleasure received from helping society (and oneself).
For instance, nobody likes to clean the streets and probably wouldn't do it without getting an hourly wage. However, I know that if the streets outside my publicly owned condominium were lined with garbage, I'd start cleaning just to satisfy society and my own sense of neatness.
I'm sure other people would do the same. It's kinda like cleaning your room. You don't wanna do it, but at some point you just can't put it off anymore.
There would probably also be some kind of definition of "minimum monthly work standard" that you'd have to meet in order to receive anything (unless you're excempt, see examples above). Cleaning the streets could be one end through which to achieve this means.
However, if you're a trained hairdresser it would probably be more meaningful for you to dress hair for most of the day, then go to your local distribution center to get your alloted daily food allowance, and then go home and clean the streets in your spare-time while listening to music created by trained musicians, distributed by the state.

*Sidenote: Acoording to Marx, the state will eventually be dissolved after the proletariat dictatorship. However, communism still needs to maintain a system in order to distribute goods and services according to need. In this example I've referred to it as "state", but it could be referred to as other things ("goods and services distribution system" being one example).

I agree with Nick... er, sorry, I meant Spinal.

Can we have at least one topic which is non-political?

Very good masher, but I can't say I enjoy his style. Listened to several of his works, and they're all pretty samey as well.

I like the style, the fact that it's mixed perfectly makes it even better...

...which reminds me, on Glee they keep saying they're doing mashups, but mashups are a DJ trick, you can't sing them, if you do, they're no longer mashups, they're just plain medleys. |ARGH!!|

|edit| forgot to mention the tv show Glee, didn't make much sense without that bit |edit|

Well, in the non-DJ world, mash-ups are when you take two or more sources and jumble them together. Multimedia collages, as it were.
