It's time to put Platdude back where he came from.
3.5 years since the last JNKPlat!!? What happened!?
Touchscreens happened.
Bloody touchscreens that have no sodding buttons, and don't damn well work with the complexities of JNKPlat.

As such, I'd opted to not tackle the issue.
But it's been a long time, and I've done a lot of touchscreen games, and played with a lot of different control schemes.
And I have OUYA to play with, now, too! With proper buttons and shit!!!

So, I've started from scratch and am finally bothering to put a brand new JNKPlat into action.

I think I'll probably aim for a quick "Xmas Adventure" edition of JNKPlat, and maybe experiment with some touchscreen control schemes, before bulking things up to a proper edition..



Right now I'm using an external BlitzMax editor, which creates a couple of .monkey files that contain the level data and ascii-data info.

I should have used ASCII maps for Mutant Monty, it was a right pain in the arse having to go back and correct mistyped hex values.

10 Levels are in, more are to come.
I've still not even added the bats, yet!
Not sure what sort of menu/lives/score system I'm going to use, this time. Hadn't even thought that far ahead, yet.

Upped to 15 levels, added a small shitty little "Congratulations" thing, tweaked the main menu with a little "One or Two button jump" thing, and.. then..
Uploaded it to OUYA!!!!

At some point over the next day or so, OUYA peeps will be getting their first taste of Proper Platdude!!!

Feck. I've been so busy I totally forgot about this. I'll try to have a play later Jay.

|edit| Just had a quick play, and that's excellent. The controls aren't particularly to my own liking, but they work well enough. I'd rather "O" was jump - it's where my thumb rests most of the time.

Could you perhaps offer a redefine keys option?

In later levels, you'll find you need to use an awful lot of Hold. .. Like, a LOT!!!
I'll add a switchy option when I do the bigger/better JNKPlat 2014 full edition version thing. For now, you'll just have to deal with it!!
