Takes me back to one of the first games I made in QBasic, man, those were the days, huddled around the it room playing 4 player tron, so much fun. Didn't do any A.I. stuff but made a load of levels, just did hit detection by qbcolor index, ahhhhhh, retrospectives

What I wouldn't give to have been able to use pixel based collision, and good old "draw it and leave it on the screen" methods..
The whole damn thing has to be redrawn, every frickin' frame!!!

This is the most complicated version of TRON I've ever created, and it's still really bloody simplistic!!!!

Neon Bike Championships is now available to play.

Simple enough game, bloody complicated to get it working, but runs exactly how you'd expect a TRON game to run.

After the chaos of getting a new server up and running, comes the ultimate challenge of making a game within the space of just a couple of days.
Yikes!!

Looks a bit shit at the minute. Hopefully I can make it look a bit less shit before Tuesday.

And, relax...
*phew*
Given that I hadn't even thought about what game I was doing, yesterday morning, I'd say that's a pretty successful project!

This week...

Started with one plan, somehow went off-tangent (nothing unusual there) and ended up in a swamp..

Haven't really done too much to the game. If I'm honest, and other than "annoying bug" tweaks, the game's pretty much how it was a few days ago.
A lot of effort, with barely any extra functionality :/

No matter, 'tis a fun little game.

OneGameAMonth only accepts one game a month, so this year, I set up an account for both AGameAWeek and Platdude to go alongside my own Jayenkai account.
So far, it's going rather well

Haven't been coding, this week, due to the lovely fun I've been having with the Gamepad..
Meanwhile....

OK, let's get back to writing games..

A few weeks ago, I considered recreating TetriPong.. After all, there was no Tetris on the OUYA, so there'd at least be that purpose...

Just a few weeks later, and that entire plan's out the bloomin' window, as "The Tetris Company" released their official Tetris.

FUCKNUTS!
Ironically, if I hadn't been sidetracked by Neon Bikes and Star Trekkers, I'd've had my Tetris game in the store WELL before theirs.
Dangit..

So I've been sat here wondering what kind of Puzzle game I can make in it's place.
A decent Puzzobomb would be nice, but not to much with a controller.. That's better suited, IMO, to mouse/touch controls.

Then I remembered about a lovely game I have in my archive. I've been meaning to remake this for a while, but the prospect of many it for touchscreens is a difficult thing to think about.

Aw well, guess it's time to figure this one out..

Some excellent stuffage there Jay, including gmaes (like the MR DO inspired one) that I didn't remember you doing at all.

And you've still got three months left of this year!

Yeah. 4. I'd only just got up after working a night shift, so bit behind in the whole months thing.

So what are you doing chatting here, there's 4 more months left!

Animated Munky FTW!!

> Reveal 🔎

Stealing sprites, animation, and movement directly from the original game. Well, I say "Movement".. I'm having to recreate all the movement so that the game works equally well on a Touchscreen device.
Seems fairly simplistic, until you realise all the jumping mechanics that are involved..
Oh boy, this isn't going to be pretty!!

Kewly! All of Munky's movement seems to be working, with both regular controls, and also Touchscreen controls.
Or at least, I think so, anyway. I'll have to double check it on an actual touchscreen device to know for sure.. So far, it's been Mouse-based, and as much as that works, you never can be sure until you try it on a real touchy-device.

Far too tired to be doing that, right now, though. Time for a rest!

Next up, design a whole bunch of brand new levels, because the old ones get WAY too hard, WAY too quickly!!!
