Wow... quite cool... I know this is not really new... but maybe someone doesn't know Tor...

It looks interesting. Have you seen Freenet before?

Hmm. Cool idea, but a double edged sword.

For every poor repressed blogger you help bitch about their country, another sadist/paedophile/terrorist you help too. Even the wiki screenshot has links to at least two child porn sites, a prevelence of depravity which my first - and last - foray into freenet confirmed.

There is something scary about total freedom from the law and even morality.

Anyways, go chinese bloggers!

huh?!? oh!!

cucco, I wasn't even aware of that.
I just took a quick glance. Read a paragraph
or two. I'll be more careful and take my time
to check out the linkys and sites.

cheers for cucco

That's the real danger with services such as freenet. That you can give anonymity to anyone.

Bring back Stalin!

Well... I don't think those services (Tor, freenet ecc...) give a total anonymity in the web... they just make you invisible to those f**ked crackers (or black hat hackers)... but they do not protect you from the net police...

I'm happy to live in the UK, where even though our freedom isn't total (the street is the place to argue that anyway ), I still have enough freedom to do what I want on the web, i.e. visit socialist websites, and host+write a few even, and criticise china's government and Blair as much as I want.

I don't want to look at the parts of the web that this proxy thing would make legal (legal is not the right word, but whatever) anyway. I'd use it if I lived in china, or the British Nazi Party got elected in the UK and took control of the Internet, but right now at least I'm pretty happy with my access to the web as it is from my seat here.

However, it's good to know these proxy sites exist, in case the Nazis do force their way to the top.
